Yannis Kominis is Associate Professor on “Analytical Mechanics and Dynamics of Particles, Bodies and Waves, in Technological Applications” in the Department of Mechanics of the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the National Technical University of Athens.

He holds a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Diploma, 1997) as well as a Doctorate (PhD, 2003) from the NTUA. He has worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher for several years in the National and the European Research Programme of Controlled Thermonuclear Fusion as well as a Principal Investigator in research projects on nonlinear waves and photonics.

His research interests and activities include the study of complex and chaotic dynamics of nonlinear systems and the nonlinear wave propagation in complex media, with applications to nonlinear photonics and fusion plasma physics.
